Terms of Service
The terms of the contract between you and IgniFI.
Last updated: 8 October 2026. These terms of service and sale (the “Terms”) govern access to and use of IgniFI. By creating an account you accept them in full. This is a courtesy translation; the French version prevails.
1. Purpose and acceptance
These Terms set out the conditions under which IgniFI (the “Publisher”) provides its online service (the “Service”) and sells paid subscriptions. They form the contract between the Publisher and any person using the Service (the “User”).
Creating an account constitutes full acceptance of these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
2. Description of the Service
IgniFI is a software tool for tracking, visualising and simulating personal wealth. It consolidates assets entered or imported by the User, tracks a budget, projects savings goals (including financial independence), simulates market scenarios and estimates property values from public data.
The Service works solely from data supplied by the User (manual entry, CSV/Excel/PDF import) and from public or third-party data (exchange rates, market prices, French DVF records). The Publisher never connects to a bank account and never collects banking credentials.
3. What the Service is not
IgniFI is not a financial adviser, a financial institution, an accountant, a tax lawyer, or a tax-filing service.
No information, projection, simulation, estimate, alert or suggestion produced by the Service constitutes:
- investment advice, a personal recommendation, or an inducement to buy, sell or hold any asset;
- personalised tax, legal, accounting or wealth-planning advice;
- any guarantee of performance, return, or of the accuracy of an amount to be declared.
Projections rely on simplified assumptions (returns, inflation, taxation) stated in the interface. Past performance does not predict future performance. All investment carries a risk of capital loss.
For any investment, tax or wealth-planning decision, the User must consult a qualified professional.
4. HappyTax tax preparation module (when offered)
This module is not currently offered. The provisions of this article apply if it is offered again.
HappyTax helps the User prepare the amounts to report in a French tax return concerning foreign accounts and digital assets (forms 2074, 2086, 3916 / 3916-bis, 2047 and related boxes).
HappyTax does not produce, sign or file any tax return. It does not replace an accountant or a tax lawyer and is not tax advice.
Calculations (gains and losses computed on the weighted average acquisition price for securities, as required by article 150-0 D of the French tax code, and on the portfolio-wide rule of article 150 VH bis for digital assets, along with currency conversions and allocation to declaration boxes) are provided for guidance only. They depend entirely on the completeness and accuracy of the data imported or entered by the User, including where that data comes from automated (AI) extraction of a PDF, which may contain errors.
The User remains solely responsible for their tax return, its compliance and timely filing, and for any consequence arising from it (additional tax, late interest, penalties, fines, audit or litigation). The User must check every amount and every box against the tax authority’s official guidance and, in case of doubt, consult a professional.
The Publisher does not warrant that every tax situation is covered, in particular special cases (split ownership, derogatory regimes, international tax treaties, companies, deferred taxation, prior-year losses, mid-year changes of tax residence).
5. User account
Using the Service requires an account. The User undertakes to provide accurate information and to keep their credentials confidential. Any action taken from their account is deemed taken by them. The User must notify the Publisher without delay of any unauthorised use.
The Service is reserved for adults with legal capacity.
6. Subscriptions, prices and payment
The Service offers a limited free tier and paid plans (“IgniFI+” and “Pro”), whose scope and current prices are displayed on the pricing page before any purchase.
Prices are shown in euros, inclusive of tax where applicable. Payments are processed by Stripe; the Publisher never has access to full card details.
Unless stated otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically for an identical term at the then-current price until cancelled by the User. Price changes never affect the subscription period in progress.
Changing plan. An IgniFI+ subscriber may move to Pro from their account page: the change takes effect immediately, the amount charged that day - the Pro price less the value of the unused days of IgniFI+ - is shown before confirmation, and the subscription then renews from the date of the change. A move from Pro to IgniFI+ takes effect at the end of the current period, which is already paid for and is not refunded.
Coaching. Pro subscribers may separately buy a one-to-one coaching session by video call, whose length and price are shown on the booking page before payment. After payment, the User picks a slot in the booking calendar; to move it, they write to contact@ignifi.io. Coaching is educational support: it is neither personalised investment advice nor tax, legal or accounting advice, and article 3 applies to it. The right of withdrawal is exercised as set out in article 7; it ends once the session has taken place.
7. Right of withdrawal
Under articles L. 221-18 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, a consumer User has fourteen (14) days from purchase to withdraw, without reason or penalty, by writing to contact@ignifi.io.
The period runs from the conclusion of the contract. The User may withdraw by any unambiguous statement, in particular using the form annexed to these Terms.
Before any payment, the User ticks a box by which they expressly request immediate access to the Service and acknowledge that they lose the right of withdrawal once the Service has been fully performed (article L. 221-28 1° of the French Consumer Code). Payment cannot be completed without that request. Its date and exact wording are kept by the Publisher and restated in the purchase confirmation email sent after payment (article L. 221-13).
As the Service starts at their request, a User who withdraws within the period remains liable for an amount proportionate to the service supplied until they communicate their decision to withdraw (article L. 221-25). The balance is refunded within fourteen (14) days, using the payment method used for the purchase.
8. Termination
The User may cancel at any time from their account, free of charge and without justification. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; no pro-rata refund is due for a period already started, save where mandatory law provides otherwise.
The Publisher may suspend or terminate access in the event of a breach of these Terms, or fraudulent, abusive or unlawful use, with prior notice save in an emergency or where legally required.
Cancelling a subscription deletes no data: the account moves to the free plan and the data entered is retained. The complete export described in article 14 remains available with no subscription requirement and no waiting period.
The User may delete their account at any time, which erases their data as described in the privacy policy.
Inactive account. An account with no paid subscription and no sign-in or change for thirty-six (36) months is deleted, together with all the data it holds. Three warnings are sent to the account address during the final three months. Signing in keeps the account and starts a fresh period. This deletion answers the duty not to keep data longer than necessary (Article 5(1)(e) GDPR).
9. User obligations
The User undertakes to:
- use the Service for personal, lawful purposes only, and not to provide a service to third parties without the Publisher’s agreement;
- check the accuracy of the data they enter or import, as the Service can neither verify nor correct incorrect data;
- verify every result (calculation, projection, declared amount) before relying on it for a decision or a tax return;
- not attempt to gain unauthorised access, scrape the content in bulk, or disrupt the Service.
10. Liability
Definition of the essential obligation. The Publisher’s essential obligation is to provide a software tool that applies, to the data supplied by the User, the calculation methods described in the interface and documentation. It is not to guarantee the User’s tax compliance, not to guarantee that a wealth decision is sound, and not to produce any given financial outcome. This article defines the scope of that obligation; it does not deprive it of its substance.
Within that obligation the Publisher is bound by an obligation of means: it applies reasonable care to the accuracy of the methods used and to the availability of the Service, without warranting that it will be free of errors, interruptions or downtime.
To the extent permitted by law, the Publisher shall not be liable for:
- investment, management, tax or wealth-planning decisions taken by the User;
- the content, accuracy or filing of a tax return, nor for any reassessment, penalty, late interest or fine arising from it;
- inaccurate, outdated or incomplete data entered or imported by the User, or produced by automated extraction;
- third-party data (exchange rates, market prices, public DVF records, broker reports) and outages attributable to those third parties or to the host;
- financial loss, loss of opportunity, loss of data, or indirect damage.
Professional users. Where the User acts in the course of a business, and save gross negligence or wilful misconduct, the Publisher’s liability for all heads of loss combined is limited to the amount actually paid by the User over the twelve (12) months preceding the triggering event.
Consumers. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes the Publisher’s liability towards a consumer for a breach attributable to it. Consumers retain all their rights, in particular the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and services (articles L. 224-25-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code) and the guarantee against hidden defects.
Nothing excludes liability for personal injury, gross negligence or wilful misconduct, nor deprives the essential obligation defined above of its substance.
11. Duty to cooperate and verify
The Service computes results from material the Publisher neither holds nor can verify. Proper performance therefore requires active cooperation from the User, which is a contractual obligation on their part:
- supply complete, accurate and up-to-date data, and report any anomaly in a result without delay;
- review the preview before saving any imported data, particularly where it results from automated extraction;
- check every amount intended for a tax return against their own official documents and the tax authority’s guidance.
A failure by the User to meet these obligations is taken into account when apportioning liability, under general law.
12. Artificial-intelligence features
Some import features rely on automated processing of documents by a third-party AI model, for the sole purpose of extracting data from a document supplied by the User.
These features are optional: manual entry and CSV/Excel import allow full use of the Service without them.
Automated extraction can contain errors or omissions (dates, amounts, currencies, direction of a transaction). No extracted data is saved without the User being able to review and validate it in the preview. That human validation is the User’s responsibility and is a condition of using the feature.
No decision producing legal effects is taken automatically: the Service merely returns data that the User validates, corrects or discards.
A document or a text may also be supplied from the built-in assistant. Its type is then identified automatically and a destination is proposed, which the User confirms or changes before any extraction; the account it goes to is chosen by the User. The document is never passed to the assistant's conversation.
The User remains responsible for the data they import. The Publisher does not guarantee that an import is accurate, whichever screen is used, and cannot be held liable for errors resulting from data imported without being checked and corrected.
13. Force majeure
The Publisher is not liable for a failure resulting from force majeure within the meaning of article 1218 of the French Civil Code, including failure of communication networks, of the host or of a third-party data provider, a cyberattack, or a decision of a public authority.
14. Backup and data portability
The User may export their data at any time from their account. It is for the User to keep their own supporting documents (statements, notices, contracts); the Service is not a substitute for any legal archiving obligation they may be subject to, in particular for tax purposes.
There are two exports, and they are not governed by the same rules:
- The complete copy of your data ("Download all my data", JSON) is free, immediate and unconditional, whatever the plan and including after cancellation. It corresponds to the rights guaranteed by Articles 15 and 20 GDPR and can be neither charged for nor delayed.
- The formatted CSV exports (portfolio, net worth history) are a convenience included with the annual and multi-year plans. That condition is commercial: it concerns the convenience of the formatting, never access to the data itself, which stays open through the complete copy above.
15. Availability and changes to the Service
The Service is available 24/7 subject to maintenance, updates, technical incidents or force majeure. The Publisher may change, modify or discontinue all or part of the features, in particular to comply with legal or tax developments.
16. Personal data
Processing of personal data is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these Terms. Wealth and tax data are hosted in the European Union, encrypted, and deletable by the User at any time.
17. Intellectual property
The Service, its structure, code, editorial content, databases and brand are protected. No rights are assigned to the User, who receives only a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right of use for as long as their account is active. Data entered by the User remains theirs.
18. Changes to these Terms
The Publisher may amend these Terms. Any material change is notified to the User by email at least thirty (30) days before it takes effect. Where it adversely and non-negligibly affects their rights or their access to the Service, the User may cancel their subscription free of charge before that date. The applicable Terms are those in force at the date of purchase or renewal.
19. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the User should first contact contact@ignifi.io to seek an amicable solution.
Under articles L. 612-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, a consumer may refer a dispute free of charge to the consumer mediator the Publisher belongs to: Médiation de la Consommation & Patrimoine (MCP), 12 square Desnouettes, 75015 Paris, France - website mcpmediation.org, email contact@mcpmediation.org. Referrals can be made online at mcpmediation.org/saisir-le-mediateur/, or by post.
The mediator can only be approached after a written complaint to the Publisher has failed to resolve the dispute, and no later than one year after that complaint (article L. 612-2 of the French Consumer Code). Failing an amicable settlement, the French courts have jurisdiction.
