Finary and IgniFI: the cockpit and the copilot

Finary aggregates and syncs your accounts; IgniFI builds a plan: budget, FIRE date, withdrawals per account type, Monte Carlo, stress tests, cross-border workers. What each one does, as of 18 October 2026, with sources.

None of these articles is tailored to an individual situation: they are published identically for every reader.

We are often asked: "I already use Finary, what would IgniFI do for me?" The honest answer fits in one picture. Finary is a cockpit: it brings your accounts together and shows you, day by day, where your net worth stands. IgniFI is a copilot: it starts from those figures to answer what comes next, how much to spend, how much to save, when to live off your money, and how long the plan holds.

The two tools do not do the same thing, and this article tries to say so without overstating it. It is written by IgniFI, so by an interested party: one more reason for every statement about Finary to point to its source, dated.

What Finary does

The information below was read on 18 October 2026 on finary.com/fr and finary.com/fr/pricing, the French pages of the service. It may have changed since: Finary's own page is the reference.

Synchronisation, its strength. Finary states that it connects to more than 20,000 banks, brokers and crypto platforms worldwide. Once the accounts are linked, balances update without importing anything. It is the feature that made its name, and nothing in IgniFI replaces it: IgniFI connects to no bank.

Broad aggregation. Bank accounts, investments, crypto-assets: Finary aims at a complete view of one's wealth, with a future net worth simulator. The Plus plan adds budget management, dividend tracking, a fee scanner, a diversification score, a family mode and a monthly report; the Pro plan adds business accounts and a holding mode.

A community. Finary reports more than a million users and runs a forum where members exchange their questions.

Investment products. Finary distributes its own products: a French life insurance contract (assurance-vie), Finary Life, insured by Generali, crypto-asset purchases, and a securities account and a PEA announced on a waiting list. The site states a PSCA registration with the AMF, the French market regulator, and an ORIAS registration as an insurance broker.

Prices. A free plan (two synchronisations, two tracked goals), then Lite at €54.99 a year, Plus at €149.99 a year and Pro at €349.99 a year, according to the pricing page.

What IgniFI does

IgniFI starts from a different question. Knowing how much you have is the starting point; what decides a life is what you do with it next.

  • The budget measures your savings rate on your own statements, and what needs to be set aside each month to meet a goal's date.
  • The FIRE date gives the month in which financial independence, retirement or a purchase is reached, at your savings pace.
  • The withdrawal plan works out how much to withdraw each month, account type by account type (PEA, assurance-vie, PER retirement plan, securities account), with the tax of each one.
  • The "does the plan hold?" verdict replays hundreds of markets by Monte Carlo simulation: the share of scenarios that last until the chosen age, and the age at which the capital would run out otherwise.
  • The stress test replays the unexpected on the plan: an unexpected expense, six months without income, a crash at the start of retirement. What each one costs, and whether the plan still holds.
  • France–Switzerland cross-border workers have their own rules: the canton of work, the LAMal or the French scheme, the 3a, the 2nd pillar, euros and francs. The page Personal finance for France–Switzerland cross-border workers gathers them, and the app computes at their rates.

IgniFI never asks for your bank credentials. Statements are imported as CSV or Excel, read in your browser, or as PDF, analysed by an AI only after your consent; an account can also be entered by hand. IgniFI sells no financial product, takes no commission and recommends no investment.

IgniFI has a free plan, limited as shown above, and two paid plans at the prices in the table. The withdrawal plan and the stress test belong to the Pro plan.

Both together, or IgniFI alone

For someone who already uses Finary, the two tools complement each other. Finary keeps the daily, synchronised view of their accounts; IgniFI takes the broad amounts (what is held in each account type, what is saved each month) to build the plan and put it to the test. There is no need to declare every account in it: a plan is built on the amounts that decide it.

For someone who wants a plan rather than a dashboard, IgniFI is enough on its own. Net worth, allocation and the performance of each account are tracked there too, without synchronisation: balances update with each import or entry, not by themselves. That is the price of a tool that asks for access to no bank.

The choice therefore depends on the question being asked. "Where do I stand, today, across all my accounts?": that is Finary's ground. "How much can I spend, from when, and does it hold if markets turn bad?": that is IgniFI's. The demo can be explored without signing up.

Finary is a trademark of its publisher; IgniFI has no connection with it. This article compares public offers at a given date and is not investment advice.
